TUGUEGARAO CITY, June 9 — As a way of celebrating the 117th Independence Day in Region 2 on June 12, the Department of Labor and Employment – Regional Office No. 2 (DOLE 2), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Tuguegarao City, will conduct a Job Fair at 3rd Floor, Mall of the Valley in this city.

“The Job Fair will offer job vacancies for local and overseas employment,” Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez, Jr., DOLE 2 Regional Director said.

“In partnership with LGUs, the DOLE works to make it easier and faster for jobseekers to find jobs that match their qualifications, interests and career inclinations. I wish to invite then all job seekers to grab this opportunity and market their credentials to the employers,” Rodriguez said.

The Labor Director advised interested applicants to bring with them their resume, ID pictures, and photocopy of their credentials. For overseas job applicants, they are advised to bring their passports to facilitate their applications.

To facilitate job matching of qualified applicants with an employer and to avoid congestion of job seekers at the registration area during the Job Fair, a pre-registration of job seekers is scheduled on June 10-11 at the DOLE Cagayan Field Office. A pre-employment orientation will also be conducted to prepare applicants for the interview during the Job Fair.

The Job Fair is an employment facilitation strategy aimed to fast-track the meeting of job seekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly on the part of the applicants.

This is open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers and employees seeking advancement.

During the Job Fair, applicants select vacancies suited to their qualifications and employers could interview or hire on the spot qualified workers. (PNA)
