PAGASA expects Baguio City's temperature to go down further

BAGUIO CITY, Feb. 7 (PNA) -– The cold temperature in the city felt especially in the early morning and late afternoon to evening is getting even lower.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) – Baguio Weather Forecaster Ian Jasper Pelayo, in an interview on Saturday, said he expects cold temperature for the whole month of February due to the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon and the Visayas.

Based on PAGASA forecast, the northeast monsoon can bring cloudy skies with light rains and moderate to strong wind, and temperature that ranges from 10ºC to 22ºC, Pelayo said.

Pelayo also said that the lowest temperature recorded in Baguio for the year was 9.8ºC at 5 a.m. on Feb. 2.

The coldest temperature in Baguio City was 6.3ºC, recorded in January 1961.

The multitude of visitors expected to troop the city for the 20th Panagbenga are advised to pack jackets or warmers to protect themselves from the cold weather. (PNA)
