BORACAY Island, Nov. 4 (PNA) — An arriving luxury ship here will first undergo quarantine in Hong Kong to ensure that passengers are safe from Ebola virus.

Niven Maquirang, jetty port administrator, said Tuesday that the luxury ship MS Superstar Aquarius is set to arrive in Boracay on November 6.

"We are expecting around 1,000 passengers to arrive in this resort island," said Maquirang, adding that this is the third time the cruise ship will arrive.

Currently, the Boracay Jetty Port administration is not trained by the Department of Health on quarantine procedures against Ebola.

This resort island is being promoted by the Department of Tourism as potential cruise ship hub in South East Asia. Each year around 10-15 cruise ship vessels are arriving, she said.

Another luxury ship is set to arrive here before the year end.(PNA)
