Alborz opens 1st cancer treatment center

TEHRAN, Oct. 30 — Alborz province has inaugurated the first cancer diagnosis and treatment center in Sarhadabad.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Amir Hossein Khandan, managing director of the center, said that the center has a chemotherapy ward with 30 beds.

Alborz Medical University has issued the permit for the establishment of the center by the private sector,” he said.

He noted that based on the Health Overhaul Plan, drugs, medical services and food will be provided to patients for free.

Khandan said the center is equipped with the most modern medical equipments, adding that state-run hospitals of Alborz province could refer cancer patients to the center.

He noted that patients hospitalized in state-run hospitals of Tehran can also be transferred to the center by Tehran and Shahid Beheshti medical universities. (PNA/IRNA)
