MANILA, Feb. 26 (PNA)– Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Br Armin Luistro FSC on Wednesday congratulated some 6,135 elementary level (out of 24,998 successful applicants) and 72,076 secondary level (out of 221,598 applicants) passers of the 2013 Alternative Learning Accreditation and Equivalency Test (ALS A&E).

The A&E Test is a paper and pencil-based test composed of composition writing and answering a multiple choice-type set of questions.

The ALS is a free education program offered to the marginalized sector through sets of modules, varying schedules, and one-on-one discussions with the facilitator when the need arises.

Luistro said,“Through the ALS A&E certificate, an industry-based worker, or a member of a cultural minority, or the differently-abled, or an out-of-school youth or adult may pursue further formal education or career growth.

” Congratulations to everyone who passed the exam, and for those who did not, this is not the end of the line. Diligence is the key. You can always return to the modules and retake the exam the next time. ”
