Manila classes suspended Jan 9 for Black Nazarene feast

MANILA, Jan. 4 — Manila City Mayor Joseph Estrada has ordered the suspension of classes in all levels on January 9, the feast of the Black Nazarene.

Estrada, through Executive Order No. 41, explained that the suspension was necessary to ensure public order and safety.

Around 12 million people are expected to participate in the procession of the Black Nazarene, according to the organizers. (PNA)
