MANILA, Nov. 15 — Two hundred residents from "Yolanda" battered Tacloban City have arrived via C-130 cargo aircraft at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City Thursday evening.

Most of the evacuees are elderly people and children hurt and traumatized during the onslaught of the super typhoon last Nov. 8.

The evacuees will be temporarily sheltered at the Department of Social Welfare and Development's facility at Jose Fabella Hospital in Manila.

Tacloban City was among the areas hit hardest by Yolanda, which ravaged parts of Visayas and Southern Luzon last week.

As of Thursday evening, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said more than 2,000 had been left dead in the supertyhoon's wake. (PNA)
