Only 1 body retrieved from the Cebu sea mishap on Tuesday; death toll reaches 109

MANILA, Sept 3 — The Philippine Coast Guard said only one body was retrieved on Tuesday from the Cebu sea collision which involved a passenger vessel and a cargo ship off Lawis Ledge in Talisay City.

As of 7:30 pm, the PCG said the total number of bodies recovered now stand at 109, with 28 still unaccounted for. The number of rescued is still at 733.

M/V St. Thomas Aquinas 1 sank after it was hit in its starboard side by M/V Sulpicio Express Siete last Aug. 16. No one was killed in the cargo vessel.(PNA)
