Comelec proclaims 24 more party-list groups

MANILA, May 28 — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday proclaimed 24 more party-list groups that won in the party-list polls last May 13.

National Board of Canvassers Resolution No. 0008-13, which was promulgate on May 28, also stated the number of votes and number of seats entitled to each winning group, including the top 14 party-list organizations which was proclaimed last May 24.

With this, the number of winning groups is now 38 with 53 seats. A total 58 seats are available in the party-list.

The 24 groups were awarded 1 seat each. They are: ABAMIN with 465,989 votes, 1.74 percent; ACT TEACHERS, 453,491, (1.70); BUTIL, 438,601 (1.64); AMIN, 376,932 (1.41); ACT-CIS, 376,175 (1.41); KALINGA, 371,610 (1.39); LPGMA, 370,360 (1.39); TUCP, 368,883 (1.38); YACAP, 366,340 (1.37); AGRI, 365,516 (1.37); ANGKLA, 360,138 (1.35); ABS, 358,693 (1.34); DIWA, 341,443 (1.28).

Also included in the list of winners are: KABATAAN with 340, 573, 1.27 percent; ANAK PAWIS, 321,110 (1.20); ALAY BUHAY, 316,947 (1.19); AAMBIS-OWA, 311,725 (1.17); 1-SAGIP, 287,060 (1.07); AVE, 270,159 (1.01); ATING KOOP, 267,452 (1.00); 1-BAP 245,237 (0.92); ABAKADA, 243,994 (0.91); AMA, 243,551 (0.91) and ANG NARS, 242,835 (0.91).

On the other hand, the initial 14 party-list groups that were earlier proclaimed by the NBOC, only BUHAY with 1,265,992 votes, representing 4.74 percent, got the maximum 3 seats.

The rest got two seats each they are: A TEACHER, 1,040,898 (3.90); BAYAN MUNA, 952,767 (3.57); 1-CARE, 933,831 (3.49); AKBAYAN, 827,405 (3.10); ABONO, 767,645 (2.87); AKB, 763,103 (2.86); OFW, 750,753 (2.81); GABRIELA, 713,492 (2.67); COOP NATCCO, 641,355 (2.40); AGA, 592,069 (2.22); CIBAC, 583,768 (2.18); MAGDALO, 565,883 (2.12) and AN WARAY, 540,906 (2.02).

The resolution also stated that the total number of votes cast for party-list is 26,722,131 based on the Party-list Canvass Report No. 10.

On the other hand, the NBOC explained that the votes totaling to 1,809,653 garnered by the 11 party-list that were disqualified but names are included in the official ballots are considered “stray”.

The disqualified party-list groups are: SENIOR CITIZENS, ANAD, ABANG-LINGKOD, BINHI, COCOFED, ATONG PAGLAUM, KAP, A-IPRA, AG, BANTAY, SMART.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc has ruled with finality on the disqualification cases of the 11 groups.

On the other hand, the poll body is waiting for the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) on the petition filed by 1st Kabalikat ng Bayan Ginhawang Sangkatauhan (1st KABAGIS) that was also disqualified.

Meanwhile, Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes said they decided not to give all the 58 seats — five seats remaining – as there are still uncanvassed votes that could affect the standings.

“We're just waiting sa special election bukas sa Lanao del Norte, five precincts at saka isang precinct sa Sultan Naga Dimaporo. At meron paisa-isang presinto that should cover the 36,000 votes kalat-kalat. This will affect only five maximum. Magpoproclaim anytime kapag natapos computation,” he explained. (PNA)
