MANILA, May 20 — Information about the programs and courses of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will now be more accessible to the public as these will be soon made available at Robinsons malls.

A memorandum of agreement between TESDA and Robinsons Land Corporation signed on May 20 will pave the way for the installation of TESDA Specialista Desks in selected Robinsons malls, where the people can access information about the available TESDA courses; its current programs and projects; schedules of competency assessment, job fairs and other events; and other materials about technical vocational education and training (TVET).

Robinsons gave the space to the agency for free as part of its corporate social responsibility program and its desire to bring government services to people in convenient location and closer to the public.

"Having a natural traffic, shopping malls such as Robinsons are probably the best place to promote TESDA's services," Villanueva said, adding that seeker of information on TVET will have a convenient time doing it in malls because of their strategic location.

Under the agreement, the setting up of the TESDA Specialista Desks in Robinsons Malls Lingkod Pinoy Center is scheduled to begin next month.

Robinsons will provide TESDA with approximately eight square meters at selected Robinsons malls, or if not available, an exhibit space of 2×2 meters inside its selected branches.

The desks will be manned by trained TESDA employees from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding legal holidays.

Among the sites being eyed for the TESDA help desks are in the following current and future Robinsons malls are Robinsons Galleria, Ortigas; Robinsons Metro East, Pasig; Robinsons Forum, Mandaluyong; Robinsons Otis, Manila, among others.

"We are excited about this partnership with Robinsons and we hope that we can do more projects together to raise awareness about TVET in the country and make TESDA services closer to the people," Villanueva said. (PNA)
