PNoy’s taped endorsement for Bem Noel goes viral in Tacloban, social networking sites

TACLOBAN CITY, May 9 — President Aquino’s taped message endorsing Bem Noel for city mayor has gone viral on social networking sites.

The recorded message put up by the presidential staff was played during last Wednesday’s political rally of the local Liberal Party (LP) at the Leyte Park Hotel.

The rally was also attended by House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II and Transportation and Communications Secretary Emilio Abaya.

The video showed the President wooing voters to vote for Bem Noel so that he could walk with him the “straight path” and deliver the needed basic services to the people of the city.

Right after the message was played, netizens immediately uploaded it on YouTube, and others shared it on Facebook.

On Facebook, one posted a comment: “It takes an exceptional person, one with a vision for a "daang matuwid" to get the endorsement of the President of the Philippines. And the President even made an effort to speak in the local dialect, Waray!”

“His Excellency, the President of the Republic of the Philippines – Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino Jr. Proudly endorses My Mayor, your Mayor, our Mayor – MayorBem Noel. Credits to the presidential staff who put the video together for the people of Tacloban,” said by another Facebook user.

“Ang Tagumpay Ni Bem Noel ay tagumpay ng mamamayan ng Tacloban. The President Endorses Bem Noel #3 for Tacloban City Mayor. An Magtitikang han Matadong nga Dalan para han Bag-o Na Tacloban! Mga Taclobanon ayaw na pagruha-duha pa, yana nga Lunes Numero 3 Bem Noel Mayor han Tacloban,” said one comment posted also on Facebook.

Meanwhile on YouTube, the “PNoy Endorses Bem Noel” video was also one of the most viewed posts yesterday.

As of this writing, the video has reached about 2,000 hits and is expected to score more views before the May 13 elections. (PNA)
