Five LP bets enter Senate mock polls

MANILA, May 9 — Five Liberal Party (LP) senatorial candidates entered the top 12 slate of senate mock election yesterday, as the employees speak out who they think should belong on August Chamber among the 2013 senatorial candidates.

Former senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr., Aurora representative Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, re-electionist senator Loren Legarda, former MTRCB Chair Grace Poe and re-electionist senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel entered the top 12 spot.

Magsaysay with 497 total votes was at the fourth spot of the polls while Angara gained 290 votes which placed him at seventh spot.

Legarda and Poe shared eighth and ninth spot as they both gained 231 votes while Pimentel was at 10th spot with 225 votes.

The senate was divided in five precincts with 1,619 total numbers of voters. However, there was only 52.28 % turn out of votes in which only 845 voted.

Meanwhile, United Nationalists Party Alliance (UNA) candidate and former senator Miguel Zubiri topped the slate with 645 votes. Cagayan representative Juan Ponce “Jack” Enrile Jr. was on the second spot with 615 and re-electionist Gringo Honasan with 582 votes was at third spot.

Former senator Richard Gordon, Puerto Princesa mayor Ed Hagedorn , Bayan Muna representative Teddy Casino and former San Juan mayor JV Ejercito Estrada also entered the top 12 list. (PNA)
