MANILA, April 7 — Team PNoy senatorial candidate Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay Jr. was added to the list of candidates that the White Vote Movement has endorsed with the former senator welcoming the announcement of support from El Shaddai headed by Bro. Mike Velarde.

Magsaysay said the backing of El Shaddai, considered the biggest Catholic charismatic group in the Philippines, will provide a big boost to his comeback bid in the Senate.

”I appreciate Bro. Mike Velarde’s announcement of support,” said the returning legislator in a simple rites held in Makati City this morning.

“The fact that Bro. Mike endorsed me is a very significant strength added to our supporters all over the country,” he added.

In his endorsement, Bro. Mike Velarde said Magsaysay Jr. was selected by the group based on three Cs–conscience, competence and commitment, saying he had known Magsaysay Jr. for many years.

“There are 46 organizations that joined this White Vote Movement,” Bro. Mike pointed out.

Magsaysay Jr. has earlier secured the endorsement of Makabayan, a coalition of progressive partylist groups Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Kabataan, Act Teachers, Katribu, Akap Bata, Migrante, Piston, Kalikasan, Courage and Aking Bikolnon.

A number of party-list groups and celebrities have earlier announced support for Magsaysay Jr.’s senatorial run.

‘Ser Chief’ Richard Yap and Dingdong Dantes have earlier shot a TV ad with Magsaysay Jr.

In a briefing this morning, Yap reiterated his endorsement is pro bono. “It’s not all about money, it’s about your belief on him.”

“Our country needs someone who has an unquestionable integrity, someone who has an untainted background, someone who has the track record to do the things that needs to be done. I believe that Senator Magsaysay Jr. possesses all these,” the popular actor said.

Richard Yap has joined Magsaysay Jr. in campaign sorties in Bacolod, Cebu, and Manila, among others. (PNA)
