One killed, two injured in Bulacan fireworks factory blast

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, April 18 — At least one worker was killed and two others were wounded in an explosion in a fireworks factory in Barangay Duhat, Bocaue town of Bulacan province Thursday.

Senior Supt. Joel Orduna, Bulacan police chief, said the incident took place around 1:40 p.m.

The fatality was identified as 28-year-old Larry Alano.

Alano’s co-workers Adrian Paul Gray and Ramilito Lunquinas were injured and undergoing treatment at the Mt. Carmel Hospital.

Orduna said that based on initial investigation, the explosion started at the mixing area of the factory owned by one Veronica Cardenas.

He said further investigation was being conducted to determine what caused the explosion that led to a fire.

He said the fire was put out before 3 p.m. (PNA)
