MANILA, Jan. 29 – Operatives of the Cordillera police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency destroyed P16.5 million worth of marijuana plants during a two-day operation in Badeo, Kibungan, Benguet last week, police said Tuesday.

The torched marijuana plants were spread over a 2,350 square meter plantation in the above-mentioned locality.

Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, Cordillera police commander, said the operation resulted in the destruction of 8,100 pieces of fully grown marijuanaplants, 4,000 pieces of seedlings, 117 kilos of marijuana stalks, two kilos of dried leaves, and five kilos of marijuana seeds worth approximately P16.5 million.

“We appreciate the cooperation of the public in providing us with vital information that allowed our operatives to locate the different marijuana plantation sites in the remote villages of Benguet,” Magalong stressed. (PNA)
