First Child Development Center in Central Luzon rises in Samal,Bataan

SAMAL, Bataan, Dec. 15 — The First Child Development Center in Central Luzon was inaugurated in this fourth class municipality on Friday.

Mayor Gene dela Fuente said the Child Development Center (CDC) was the 20th center established out of 100 others planned to be set up across the country.

The CDC was connected to the Samal Lying-in Center and is now called the Mother and Child Center. The Lying-In Center was the first mini-hospital in Samal for pregnant women.

“From now on, every new Samaleno will be born in this center. Expecting mothers need not go to Balanga City or Orani town to have their babies,” dela Fuente said.

The Early childhood Care and Development Council funded the construction of the CDC that will look after the welfare of children aged 0 -3 years old and parents who will be taught of the proper rearing of children.

Gracing the inauguration were Reps. Herminia Roman and Albert Garcia of the first and second districts, respectively and health and social welfare and other development officials.

In 2011, Samal was adjudged as the most child-friendly municipality in the region.(PNA)
