MANILA, Dec. 13 – With Christmas Day just 11 days away, Defense Secretary Voltaire T. Gazmin Thursday distributed hygiene gifts to wounded soldiers undergoing treatment at the "Heroes Ward" of the AFP Medical Center.

“I bring with me some humble tokens of thanks for our patients, our soldier-heroes, courtesy of our grateful nation,” he said.

The DND chief added this was a way to express the gratitude and appreciation of the Filipino people for their selfless service to the country.

Gazmin also thanked Brig. Gen. Normando Sta. Ana, chief of the AFP Medical Center, and his staff for their “well appreciated services of attending to the needs of our wounded soldiers.”

In addition, repair and renovation of different wards and comfort rooms including the water system, lights and ventilation are ongoing.

More than 200 LED television sets in different wards procured by the command are also now in place. (PNA)
