MANILA, Dec. 10 – The low pressure area has dissipated but it will still be rainy in some parts Luzon due to the northeast monsoon or “hangin amihan”, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Monday.

Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region and the provinces of Ilocos will have cloudy skies with light rains.

Meanwhile, Mindanao, especially its eastern section will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional light rains due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila will have sunny to partly cloudy skies with brief rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening because of the localized convection.

PAGASA also said that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east to southeast over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
