MANILA, Nov. 30 — A trauma center will soon rise at the headquarters of the 1st Infantry Division in Butuan City, military officials in Manila said Friday.

This is in line with efforts to provide adequate and quality medical care for the division's wounded personnel.

Ground breaking ceremony for this lifesaving facility took place last Nov. 26.

The project, with the assistance of the Dept. of Health, will cost a total P6 million and will be constructed for 120 working days.

The DOH has also contributed other items to the military such as mosquito nets, Olyset net rolls, toilet bowls, and assorted medicines for the use of the Army personnel in the area.

“This project is in partnership with the AFP to help the soldiers and their dependents get a better and more responsive health care that they need, especially those deployed in the CARAGA Region,” 4th ID commander Maj. Gen. Nestor Añonuevo said.(PNA)
