MANILA, Oct. 17 — The Court of Appeals (CA) has called for a clarificatory hearing on the murder case of Palawan broadcaster and environmentalist Dr. Gerry Ortega.

In a resolution of the CA's Special Fifth Division signed by Associate Justice Leoncia Real Dimagiba, the CA set the clarificatory hearing on Oct. 29, 2012 at 2 p.m.

The clarificatory hearing was in connection with the petition for review filed by one of the accused Coron, Palawan Mayor Mario Reyes.

The CA set the hearing in order to clarify the issues involving the petition of Reyes.

The camp of brothers former Palawan Gov. Joel Reyes and his brother Mario earlier asked CA to dismiss the murder case filed against them by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The murder case is now pending before the Puerto Princesa City, Palawan Regional Trial Court (RTC).

The RTC has already issued the warrant of arrest against the Reyes brothers. (PNA)
