DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan Oct. 16 —-Some 230 kilograms of so-called "double- dead" or hot meat, already foul-smelling, were confiscated by the City Veterinary Office from a meat vendor here early Tuesday.

Dr. Michael Maramba, veterinary officer, said the hot meat confiscated from a certain Edgar, a legitimate meat vendor in the Centromart Market at 1:30 a.m. was brought to the city dumpsite where it was burned a few minutes later.

Maramba said although Edgar acquired the necessary permits for the four slaughtered pigs from a slaughter house in Malasiqui to be sold in the Centromart Market , the meat inspectors suspected that vendor maliciously mixed the hot meat with those that were covered by the permits.

He also said the hot meat were noticed to have been placed in different container, from the meat sourced out from the Mangaldan slaughterhouse.(PNA)
