Wife, niece of Iloilo judge killed by still unknown assailants

MANILA, May 14 – The 65-year-old wife of Iloilo judge and the latter's 17-year-old niece was found dead of multiple stab wounds inside their home in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo Monday morning.

Sr. Supt. Gil Lebin, Iloilo Provincial Police Office chief, identified the fatalities as Sonia Amular and Tata Dioso.

The victims were found dead inside their residence at Tets Pension House, which is also owned by the former, at Barangay Ilaya, Poblacion, Barotac Nuevo around 7:20 a.m.

Sonia is the wife of Iloilo Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo S. Amular.

Her bloodied remains were found at the garden while her niece was found inside the comfort room.

Lebin said that they were still determining the motive of the crime as none of the victims' valuables were stolen.

He also said that investigators would submit the body of Dioso to a standard rape examination to determine if she was sexually abuse by the suspects as the latter was found naked in the bathroom. (PNA)
