MANILA, April 24 – PSSupt. Richard Albano, Deputy Director of the Philippine National Police Retirement Benefits Administration Service, said the processing of requirements for police retirees would be much easier with the launching soon of the "One-Stop Shop" program of their department.

The program is set to be implemented in coordination with the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The Police Retirement Benefits and Services (PRBS), a directorate of the Philippine National Police (PNP), is tasked to be in-charge in processing of requirements needed by the retirees to avail of their benefits.

Albano, speaking during the Philippine Information Agency-sponsored "Talking Points" media forum on Tuesday, said that they are collaborating with the NSO for the "One-Stop Shop" program and that they are working to have an NSO outlet in the PRBS so applicants will have easy access to the documents that they need.

“We are collaborating with the NSO to have an easy access of the requirements needed by the retirees and also to avoid illegal and fake documents,” he said.

The official, however, pleaded for the cooperation and patience of the retirees if ever there would be delays in the processing of their documents.

Moreover, the PRBS is conducting exit programs for police retirees. It is conducting seminars to help the retirees decide on where to use and invest their retirement benefits.

The PRBS is also helping the retirees become productive after they retire.

Among the requirements for availing police retirement benefits are birth certificate and marriage contract. (PNA) LAP/Swella S. Pagacita
