WASHINGTON, April 5 — The United States will host the foreign ministers of the Group of Eight (G8) for a meeting in Washington next week, the State Department announced Wednesday.

The department said U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will host the meeting at the Blair House, the country's official state guest house, in Washington D.C. on April 11 and 12.

The meeting will cover a "range of country-specific, regional, and transnational topics," said the State Department. It is believed that Syria, Iran and the eurozone economic crisis will be high on the agenda.

The United States, holding the G8 presidency in 2012, will host the G8 Summit at Camp David in Maryland on May 18 and 19. (PNA/Xinhua)
