5.5-magnitude quake hits Papua New Guinea — USGS

HONG KONG, April 5 — An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted New Britain region, Papua New Guinea at 2027 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.7 km, was initially determined to be at 4.030 degrees south latitude and 152.091 degrees east longitude. (PNA/Xinhua)
