MANILA, March 25 — Traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assigned to man traffic along the 23.8-kilometer long Epifanio Delos Santos Ave. (EDSA) will shed their long pants for shorts as they start wearing Boy Scout-type uniforms on Monday.

MMDA Assistant General Manager for Planning Emerson Carlos said members of the "EDSA 500" and the agency’s Task Force Takipsilim will wear the summer attire while manning traffic along the metropolis’ main thoroughfare.

The "EDSA 500," named due to the number of enforcers, is an elite unit of the agency tasked to manage and untangle traffic jams along EDSA during the day, while Task Force Takipsilim is deployed for the night shift.

But except for the shorts, the enforcers will still wear their type-C blue uniform with sashes and tie and patches that identify them as “traffic constables.” (PNA)
