ILOILO CITY, March 14 – Cong. Ferjenil Biron of the Iloilo fourth district said that Navotas City Cong. Tobias M. Tiangco must be ready to face the consequence of not signing the resolution and for standing as witness in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato C. Corona.

Biron also said that there had been so far no coercion exerted on them to sign the House resolution for the impeachment of the Chief Justice as had been alleged by Tiangco.

“We were not forced to sign the resolution,” Biron said. The congressman contended that if he himself signed the resolution it was a voluntary act for he believes they have a case against the Chief Justice.

Biron recalled his own experience when he did not sign the impeachment against Merceditas Gutierrez, former Ombudsman, for he has some “local reasons” not to do so and that his Priority Assistance Development Fund (PDAF) was delayed. But he said that he did not take it against the administration or to anybody to have his PDAF being delayed.

He added that Cong. Tiongco should stand for what he believes in and that the delay in the release of the PDAF is a natural consequence that he has to face.(PNA) RMA/AJPetinglay/vlo
