5 Chinese workers die in Brazzaville's blast

BEIJING, March 5 — Five Chinese workers died in an arsenal blast, which occurred at 8 o'clock a.m. on March 4, local time, in Brazzaville, Capital of Republic of Congo, China's Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

According to the Department of Consular Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the blast affected the housing project under construction by Beijing Construction Engineering Group, killing five Chinese workers and leaving two others missing and 12 others injured.

About 130 Chinese engineers and technicians were involved in the project and the rest of the workers have moved to safe places. Urgent search and rescue have started immediately after the blast. (PNA/Xinhua)
