ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb. 18 – The local police station is fielding some 200 policemen to ensure the peaceful celebration of Zamboanga City's 75th Charter Day celebration on Sunday, Feb. 26.

Senior Supt. Edwin de Ocampo, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, said that he will also utilize his office personnel to render field duty during the Charter Day celebration.

A grand parade is set to be held on Feb. 26, coming from downtown passing through the major thoroughfares and will end up at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Jr. Memorial Sports Complex.

A program will follow after the parade with Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines Jorge Domecq as the keynote speaker.

De Ocampo disclosed they are not taking any chances in as far as implementation of tight security measures is concerned as he admitted “that threat always exists.”

He said that the ZCPO will be backed up by the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) troops and other law enforcement agencies in implementing the security measures.

The plan on security measures was finalized during a coordinating conference held on Thursday at the ZCPO headquarters, De Ocampo said. (PNA)
