TOKYO, Jan. 20 — The Japanese government will host the fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, for three days from June 1 next year, Chief Cabinet Secretary Osamu Fujimura said Friday.

Japan is slated to hold the award ceremony for the second Hideyo Noguchi Africa Prize at the same time, the government's top spokesman said at a press conference. Yokohama, near Tokyo, was the venue for the fourth conference in 2008. (PNA/Kyodo)
