VP Binay secures repatriation of 18 OFWs from KSA, UAE

MANILA, Oct. 28 — Vice President Jejomar Binay is scheduled to return from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a brief visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) together with 18 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have been stranded in these countries.

Honoria Velasco, Thinker Belle Juangco and Analie Mansing, three repatriated Filipinos from Bahay Kalinga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will be accompanying Binay in his flight back to Manila Friday night.

The Vice President will be arriving via Etihad Airways flight EY 428 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 at 11:30 p.m.

The other 15 OFWs will be arriving on October 30 via Etihad Airways flight EY424 that will arrive in Manila at 4:15 p.m.

Binay flew to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to officially extend the country's condolences to the bereaved family of the late Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdel Azziz al Saud.

He went as President Benigno S. Aquino III's representative.

As of September, a total of 901 overstaying OFWs in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have returned home as a result of Vice President Binay's visit to these countries. (PNA)
