BIR-RDO warn taxpayers against non-payments of taxes

ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 26 – The Bureau of Internal Revenue – Revenue District Office (BIR-RDO) of the province warns taxpayers against non-payment of taxes to the agency as it might resort to stringent moves to settle their tax obligation.

BIR-RDO District Office chief Nerissa Agraam, said that the agency might close the business establishments of those of failed to settle their tax obligation to BIR or seek the right to sell the owner’s property just to settle the tax obligations and delinquencies incurred.

Agraam said that the move of the agency would require all taxpayers in the province to settle their tax obligations.

She said the agency was only implementing its mandate to collect the taxes but if the taxpayers were lenient in the payment of their taxes the agency might interfere.

The agency conducts “Oplan Kandado” on business establishments in the province, especially establishments that are not paying taxes.

Agraam urged taxpayers in the province to pay their taxes religiously to avoid any moves of the agency that is against their will.

She said the agency was sincere in its drive to collect taxes for the use of the government to finance the various programs, projects and activities for the benefit of all. (PNA) RMA/SCD/MEdale/mba
