MANILA, Oct. 24 – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) board has given its approval for the detailed development designs for the North Port Terminal.

The designs were submitted by port developer Manila North Harbour Port, Inc. (MNHPI) early this month.

“All approved designs only cover Terminal 1 while all other designs are pending,” the PPA said in a statement.

The PPA approved an extension of completion date for North Port’s passenger terminal one to November 2013 which is much later than the April 2013 earlier proposed.

The PPA also approved collapsing the development of the two passenger terminals into only one.

MNHPI is committed to invest P14.5 billion to develop a passenger, container and general cargo terminal at North Port.

It is a joint venture between Harbour Centre Port Terminals, Inc. and San Miguel Corporation. (PNA)
