MANILA, Oct. 20 -– As part of its efforts to foster better understanding and cooperation with its Southeast Asian counterparts, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced that it will sign a maritime law enforcement agreement with the Vietnam Marine Police next week.

The Philippines and Vietnam are both members of the Association of Southeast Nations (ASEAN).

Vice Admiral Ramon Liwag, PCG commandant, said the agreement between the two parties will focus on information exchange crucial to protecting the maritime environment.
