<b>By Gloria Jane Baylon <b> MANILA, March 30 — At exactly 12 noon on Wednesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) asked for a one-minute prayer for Filipinos Elizabeth Batain, Sally Villanueva and Ramon Credo, a strong signal that the trio’s scheduled execution “late this morning” had occurred as scheduled in China.

”God bless their souls,” the DFA said in a text message to the press, without further comments.

Earlier, a mass was held for the three Filipinos who were convicted of separately smuggling more than 15 kilos of heroin into the southern port cities of Xiamen and Shenzhen.

The Chinese embassy has no comment on whether the execution by lethal injection did proceed. (PNA) <br>dct/scs/GJB
