DSWD celebrates 60th anniversary Monday

MANILA, Jan. 3 — Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon "Dinky" Juliano-Soliman announced that the agency is celebrating its 60th founding anniversary Monday with the theme, “The DSWD @ 60: Committed Social Service with Integrity.”

She added that this theme for the DSWD's 60th birthday is only fitting as the agency has has remained "consistent and focused on its goals, building a reputation of committed service for Filipinos, providing package of programs for individuals, families, groups, and communities, always in a very capable and proficient manner."

She added that the agency's 60th founding anniversary was highlighted with the traditional flag raising ceremony and thanksgiving mass.

Aside from this, Soliman said that ranking DSWD officials also participated in the blowing of candles on its 60th anniversary cake.

Other activities include the launching of a coffee table book which chronicles DSWD’s 60 years of steadfast service to the disadvantaged sectors, the PANATA Awards which recognizes the contribution of DSWD partners and stakeholders, the program on awards and incentives for service excellence (PRAISE) for outstanding DSWD employees, and Loyalty Awards which recognizes officials and employees who have rendered 10 to 40 years of faithful service.
