BAGUIO CITY, Nov. 30 – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Tuesday said it noted the decrease of crimes against property like robbery and theft following increased police patrols and other crime prevention measures.

The report came about after a week following the stern order of City Mayor Mauricio Domogan to crack down on robbery syndicates which already committed recently some sensational robberies.

Police Sr. Supt. David Lacdan, police chief, said compared to the first 11 months last year where 140 robberies and thefts were committed, only 90 were committed during the same period this year.

Lacdan has still to report solved cases of thefts and robberies.

Records show that Domogan made the order days ago as he cannot tolerate the further rise of crimes here being an international tourist destination.

To date, several barangay-based force multipliers of the BCPO like tanods and civic organizations are helping in the sustenance of an ideal peace and order here. (PNA)
