DFA closed on Nov. 29, except for scheduled claiming of passports

MANILA, Nov. 25 — Passports due to be released on November 29, Monday, may still be claimed by applicants even if that day has been declared a non-working holiday in lieu of November 30, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Thursday.

The Passport Releasing Area of the DFA will open for that purpose alone. All other consular transactions, such as applications for processing of passports and authenticated documents, will not be serviced, DFA said.

Thus, appointments scheduled on November 29 will be accommodated and processed from November 30 to December 3, on the same time as originally indicated in the application.

November 30 is Bonifacio Day, but will instead be observed on November 29 following the holiday economics scheme of government. (PNA)
