MANILA, June 23 — Incoming Vice-President Jejomar Binay is no longer interested in seeking a Cabinet post under the administration of President-elect Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Binay’s media relation officer Joey Salgado reiterated in a radio interview on Wednesday the talk between Binay and Mr. Aquino during their meeting in the incoming chief executive’s house in Quezon City.

Salgado said, Binay told Aquino that he is not seeking any Cabinet post but will remain supportive to the Aquino administration.

Binay’s media officer added, the former decided to decline any Cabinet post so as not to burden the President-elect and allow him to focus on the many challenges facing the nation.

According to Salgado, Binay and the Aquino family are friends especially during the term of the late President Corazon Aquino, Noynoy’s mother.

Binay was designated by President Cory as officer-in-charge of Makati City after the EDSA revolution.

Binay told reporters after his meeting with PNoy that they only had social and cordial talks. (PNA)
