MANILA, June 20 — Representatives of President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino 3rd tasked to make the necessary arrangements for his June 30 inauguration will meet with concerned Manila City Hall officials on Monday.

Mayor Alfredo S. Lim himself will be around to receive the group and sit down in the meeting where some city department heads and officials of the Manila Police District (MPD) led by its director, Gen. Rodolfo Magtibay, will also be in attendance.

The mayor said that particular coordination will have to be made with the Manila police for purposes of ensuring the peace and order situation before, during and even after the inauguration rites and for the proper maintenance of traffic, a task which falls under Traffic Chief Superintendent Rizaldy Yap.

Since thousands of people are expected to troop to the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park to witness Aquino’s oath-taking as the country's 15th president, Lim stressed the need to also station health personnel who can attend to cases needing immediate medical attention.

According to Mayor Lim, he will do everything within his means to ensure that the incoming President’s inauguration will be nothing but a "smooth, peaceful, orderly and joyous occasion.”

Lim said the city government and Manilans take pride in Aquino’s having chosen the city as the venue for his oath-taking. (PNA) scs/JES
