MANILA, June 14 – The Philippine National Police (PNP) will hold a post-election command conference in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as guest of honor and speaker.

PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina said the PNP high command will also take the occasion as an opportunity to express its appreciation to President Arroyo’s support to the police organization, particularly to its Integrated Transformation Program (ITP).

“Memento will be presented to the President which we customarily give,” Espina said.

The command conference, expected to be attended by all PNP top officials, is scheduled at 2 p.m. at the Camp Crame Multipurpose Hall.

”Usual arrival and departure honors will be rendered (for the President),” Espina added.

Aside from post-election assessment, the command conference will also serve as the last PNP briefing for the poutgoing Chief Executive.

”The meeting will be more of a special session or exit briefing with her,” Espina said.

The PNP high command has declared the May 10 presidential and local elections as the most peaceful polls in recent times with significant decrease in the number of election-related violent incidents registered. (PNA) scs/MM
