MANILA, June 1 – The Quezon City Government said Friday it has launched the e-schools-on-board program to help improve the computer literacy skills of QC public elementary school children.

To implement the program, two 20-footer container vans were converted into mobile computer shops, each equipped with 20 computer units, a server and other peripherals such as scanners, printers and web cameras.

The mobile computer laboratories will be sent to the city’s 98 public elementary schools to provide Grade VI pupils with the necessary training and technical support that will give them the competitive edge in the mainstream of information technology highway.

The city government partnered with the Bagong Henerasyon Foundation, Inc. to implement the program which was funded at a cost of P4 million by the QC local school board. (PNA) vcs/JCA
