MANILA, June 11 – The Palace on Friday appealed anew to the camp of President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III for "circumspection" in making statements to avoid misleading the public.

"The people briefing President-elect Aquino should take batter care with the facts," Presidential Spokesman Ricardo Saludo said in a statament.

He also clarified that there is no budget allocation of P300 billion for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Saludo likewise noted that contrary to Aquino's data, there are 4,301 positions to be filled up by the next administration and not 1,000 as claimed by his camp.

"We echo the call of our revered legal luminaries for circumspection in public statements in the spirit of national unity as we usher in a new administration," he said. LAP/JMC
