MANILA, April 30 – An hour-long grass fire disrupted summer classes at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) grade school in Loyola Heights, Quezon City on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-QC and Text Fire Volunteer fire brigade responded to the blaze which began at 4:15 p.m. and was put out at 5:20 p.m.

A security guard told the Philippines News Agency (PNA) that due to the heat of the sun, the grass infront of the grade school compound on Katipunan Avenue started to become a wildfire. A traffic jam happened infront of the school.

No one was injured in the incident, authorities said. But the fire caused anxieties among grade school pupils and teachers. (PNA) RMA/JCA
