MANILA, April 26 — The U.S. ambassador-designate to the Philippines, Harry K. Thomas Jr., is scheduled to present his credentials at Malacanang on Tuesday, after which he lays a wreath at the monument of Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, at the Luneta Park.

This was relayed by U.S. embassy spokesperson Rebecca Thompson, who said that the flower offering "is part of the diplomatic formalities of presenting credentials" to the Philippine Government and as the representative of U.S. President Barack Obama.

Ambassador Thomas will be accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Leslie A. Bassett, and officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Thomas arrived in Manila on April 17 and has called on DFA officials on April 19, led by the Acting Secretary at the time, Esteban Conejos Jr. (PNA)
