(Metro News) QC barangays receive P324M as partial property tax share

MANILA, April 17 — Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said Saturday the Quezon City government has turned over P394.25 million to the city’s 142 barangays for their respective share in the real property tax (RPT) collected by the city for the first quarter of the year.

Belmonte said the barangays that received the biggest RPT shares were Bagumbayan in Libis, P11.03 million; South Triangle in Diliman, P10.18 million; Socorro in Project 4, P10.6 million; Ugong Norte in Libis, P9.5 million;

Apolonio Samson in Balintawak, P6.3 million; Matandang Balara in Diliman, P5 million; Pansol, P4.2 million; Loyola Heights, P4.5 million; Nagkaisang Nayon in Novaliches, P5.1 million; and Batasan Hills, P4.2 million.

To date, the city government has already remitted almost P4 billion to its 142 barangays since Quezon City began transferring to each barangay their respective RPT share in July 2003.

The city government remitted the biggest RPT share in 2009, amounting to P520.35 million. (PNA) scs/JCA
