MANILA, April 17 – Filipinos of different religious and spiritual persuasions will gather together on Sunday at the Marikina City Riverbanks Activity Center to pray for the healing of the Earth and humanity.

Called SANDIWANG: Isang Diwa sa Pagdiriwang ng Kalikasan, the event aims to bring together men and women of faith to set aside their religious differences and unite in the ONE SPIRIT that created everything.

Organizers said this day-long affair is not only spiritual but also cultural since several artists and artist groups will join like the Kontemporaryong Gamelan ng Pilipinas of the University of the Philippines-Diliman under the tutelage of Prof. Edru Abraham.

Now on its third year, the choice of the venue is apt because the members of the Earth Day Network Philippines– Ecological Spirituality Fellowship feel the need to go back to “ground-zero” of storm Ondoy and pray for the healing of the Earth.

But the healing continues with humanity as a Medical Mission will be held through the support of the Ananda Marga Relief Team, Traditional Hilot by the UNLAD Movement, Acupuncture by Mon Devora and other fun, artistic activities that children will enjoy.

The project is supported by the Marikina City government, the Marikina Riverbanks Mall and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. (PNA) scs/JCA
