(Metro News) Maynilad reactivates two deepwells in QC, Caloocan vs. dry spell

MANILA, April 13 – Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI) said Tuesday it has reactivated two deep wells to augment water supply in over 500 households in Barangay Bagong Silang, North Caloocan City and Barangay Sta. Quiteria, Novaliches, Quezon City in response to the dry spell in Metro Manila.

MWSI said additional deepwells were also on standby for immediate reactivation.

To supplement the low water supply in Roosevelt, Fairview and Valenzuela City, Maynilad deployed 14 water tankers to these areas.

MWSI spokesperson Cherubim Ocampo said the company was prepared to deploy additional tankers should more areas become affected.

Ocampo said recent reductions in its raw water allocation had prompted MWSI to intensify its mitigating measures this month. (PNA) RMA/JCA
