ILOILO CITY, Jan. 26 – Some P35,000 worth of property has been gobbled up by a fire that hit two houses late Monday afternoon in Brgy. Calitan, Pan-ay, Capiz.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Roxas City said the house of Richelle Babila was totally destroyed while the adjoining house owned by Lilibeth Benjamin was partially damaged.

Arson investigator FO2 Ramil Arquisola of Roxas City BFP said the fire started at the house of Babila that was triggered by an electrical spark from the cable wire of a telecommunication company being utilized by the family as an electrical line connection from the main line of the Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) to supply power to the household.

The fire rapidly ate up combustible materials of the Babila residence before it spread to the house of the Benjamins located nearby.

The Babila family lost some P20,000 property damage while Benjamin has incurred P15,000 damage for their partially damaged house. (PNA) RMA/AJP/VLOrquiola/vlo
