PNP 14th leg of transformation caravan torch relay set in Butuan City

CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City, Jan. 12 — The Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) will host the 14th Leg of Transformation Caravan Torch Relay on Thursday (January 14).

Caraga Regional Director-Police Chief Supt. Lino de Guzman Calingasan will receive the transformation torch here, with Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jesus Verzosa officiating the torch's turnover from Police Regional Office-10.

Sr. Supt. Nestor M. Fajura, chief of operation and plans division of PRO 13, said the torch run caravan program will commence with a 10-kilometer, 5-km, 3-km, and 1-km torch run that will start at South Montilla Boulevard, in-front of Agusan del Norte Electric Cooperative (ANECO) sub-station at 5:30 a.m. and end at Camp Rafael Rodriguez here where the regional police command is located.

The advocacy run will be highlighted by a turn-over ceremony and briefing presentation and interaction with the tri-media and different stakeholders at PRO-13 Conference Room, he said.

This projects aims to highlight the gains and objectives of the Integrated Transformation Program (ITP) that will focus on peace and development updates, added Senior Supt. Fajura.

The transformation program will likewise promote the culture of reform in the PNP personnel and stakeholders through advocacy programs and effective functions.

On the other hand, Chief Supt. Calingasan said the PNP Transformation Torch is a beacon that carries the light symbolizing the transformation program being undertaken by the PNP to turn itself into more capable, effective, and credible police service.

The activity is anchored on the theme: "Pushing forward the Genuine PNP transformation."
